Mr Balboa would know. As production manager at Unique Collection, a rose farm in the sierra, north of Bogotá, he understands the selling power of special occasions.
Unique Collection sells 65 per cent of its roses to Russia, 20 per cent to the US and the rest between Hungary, Belgium, the UK, Taiwan, Ukraine and Japan.
